Johnny Depp has landed in Chicago for 'Public Enemies' filming!

While there is a lot of conjecture about filming dates and locations for “Public Enemies,” we can report this as fact.

I can tell you there were

I can tell you there were definitely old style cars on Wabash tonight, and they were filming on Washington. There are pink signs all over the place directing people (extras, I guess) to PE. They’ve been there for a few days now.

"L" train part of filming?

I saw an old two-car “L” train running on the Loop tonight (April 8) at around 9:00 with costumed people inside (though no camera or anything that I could see). There were also some people in costume (or so I thought, it was dark & raining really hard!) at the end of the track at the Randolph station and the train did stop there…

Anyone know if this ia part of the filming?

It was part of the filming,

It was part of the filming, I saw it go by from below. I was watching Bale film scenes when it went by.

I saw Christian Bale tonight

Chrisitan Bale was filming in the Pittsfield Building on Wabash and Washington tonight. Johnny Depp was not there at all tonight, nor will he be there tomorrow. Not sure if Christian will be there tomorrow or not. They were mostly filming scenes with extras in them.
There were probably about 10 of us total standing outside the building, and all of a sudden I see Bale walk out of the building to a black Yukon. It was a short time after 9:05pm. I am the ONLY person there who got a picture of him. It’s not a very good picture, but you can tell it is him. He didn’t wave, smile, or anything. I was still within 4 feet of him though when he was walking out and as his driver was pulling away.
We were talking to one of the location assistants afterward and he said that Christian is actually a nice guy, but some crazy paparazzi/professional autograph “getter” got a little too rambunctious so now he doesn’t want to greet anyone. I still think he could’ve at least waved or SOMETHING though…how much effort does it take to lift your arm? Ha ha.
EITHER WAY, I saw him and he MAY be back tomorrow, not sure where though. I might end up going back to the Pittsfield Building tomorrow to check it out.
AND I met Johnny Depp (who is a more courteous person than Bale, it seems) in Aurora on Monday, which was awesome. He held my hand in both of his hands and told me it was nice to meet me and thanks for coming out, all while looking at me straight in the eye. So sweet.

Don’t go there expecting to see Johnny Depp though, because you will be disappointed when you find out he is not there.

THEATER, TV, DVD & BLU-RAY REVIEWS

  • Near Dark

CHICAGO – It’s funny the way that the Blu-Ray market has developed in that success of a new title can often bring an old one to the HD format more quickly than it otherwise would get there. In the case of the great “Near Dark,” it’s the success of two films, one that shares a theme (“The Twilight Saga: New Moon”) and one that shares director Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker”). Whatever the reason, don’t fail to include arguably the best vampire movie ever made in your collection.

  • Lost

CHICAGO – The sixth and final season of the J.J. Abrams hit television series “Lost” will premiere with a special all-night event on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2009. The recap special will start at 7pm CST followed by the highly anticipated sixth season two-hour premiere at 8pm CST on ABC.
