CHICAGO – It’s funny the way that the Blu-Ray market has developed in that success of a new title can often bring an old one to the HD format more quickly than it otherwise would get there. In the case of the great “Near Dark,” it’s the success of two films, one that shares a theme (“The Twilight Saga: New Moon”) and one that shares director Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker”). Whatever the reason, don’t fail to include arguably the best vampire movie ever made in your collection.
CHICAGO – The sixth and final season of the J.J. Abrams hit television series “Lost” will premiere with a special all-night event on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2009. The recap special will start at 7pm CST followed by the highly anticipated sixth season two-hour premiere at 8pm CST on ABC.
I'll have to get back to you.

I still have that screener sitting in my 2007 pile of “not-yet-watched screeners”. Still, it’s high on my list of “screeners to watch soon”.
I’m very, very picky about scary movies. They almost never scare me. You’re saying “The Orphanage” does the trick? If so, can you explain why?
For example, I fight with people about why “The Ring” was scary to me. Death and destruction and blood aren’t usually scary to me. “The Ring” made excellent use of sounds, uncomfortable imagery and fast motions. It got in my head and made me squirm. I loved it.
Great story
Well, I don’t want to give it away, but the story was excellent. I am not easily scared either and usually I find that horror films follow the same format and have several holes throughout them. However, this film keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. Great use of sound, imagery that I want to forget, and a twisted look at what is really horrific. Watch it and let me know what you think!
Loved it.
I’ve seen it now, and just like I enjoyed “The Others,” so did I enjoy “The Orphanage”. “The Orphanage” has commonalities with “The Others” but still stands entirely on its own.
Though I’m not easily scared, it still got to me at moments. Overall, though, an thoroughly interesting story, stellar acting and a quality ending.
