Film News: 48th Annual Chicago International Film Festival Schedule Announced

CHICAGO – The full schedule has been announced for the 48th Annual Chicago Film Festival, which runs from October 11 to October 25, 2012 and opens with a red carpet appearance by Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, & Alan Arkin and ends with one by Robert Zemeckis.

Highlights of the 2012 CIFF include an opening night presentation of “Stand Up Guys” starring Pacino, Walken, Arkin, and Juliana Margulies, a central presentation of the Wachowskis’ “Cloud Atlas,” and a closing night presentation of Zemeckis’ “Flight” with Denzel Washington.

Other film festival entries of note include “ABCs of Death,” Brandon Cronenberg’s “Antiviral,” Ken Burns’ “Central Park Five,” Leo Carax’s “Holy Motors,” Juan Antonio Bayona’s “The Impossible,” Don Coscarelli’s “John Dies at the End,” Franck Khalfoun’s “Maniac,” David Chase’s “Not Fade Away,” Carlos Reygadas’ “Post Tenebras Lux,” Dustin Hoffman’s “Quartet,” Matteo Garrone’s “Reality,” Nikolaj Arcel’s “A Royal Affair,” Ben Lewin’s “The Sessions,” James Marsh’s “Shadow Dancer,” Jaume Balaguero’s “Sleep Tight,” and Olivier Assayas’ “Something in the Air.”
