Exclusive Portrait: Patton Oswalt For His Book ‘Silver Screen Fiend’

CHICAGO – Raconteur, comedian and Twitter star Patton Oswalt has a new book out, entitled “Silver Screen Fiend.” In it, he chronicles his love for the movies and how it shaped his worldview. He appeared at North Central College in Naperville, Ill., at an event sponsored by Anderson’s Bookshop.

Patton Oswalt was born in Virginia, and graduated from the College of William and Mary there. He began his stand-up career in the 1990s, and worked for “MADtv’ shortly thereafter. He has made his mark in film, notably as the voice of Remy in Walt Disney’s “Ratatouille.” On TV, he was a recurring character on “The King of Queens,” “Two and Half Men,” “Reno 911!,” and currently is the narrator voice on “The Goldbergs” and appears on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim series “The Heart, She Holler.”

Oswalt was at North Central College at the Anderson’s Bookshop event, moderated by Chicago Sun-Times film critic Richard Roeper, and featuring an audience Q&A. Photographer Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com was there to capture this Exclusive Portrait.
