CHICAGO – Popular actress Taraji P. Henson (“Hustle & Flow,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”) was showcased at the 52nd Chicago International Film Festival on October 23rd, 2016, as she walked the Red Carpet and presented highlights from her upcoming film, “Hidden Figures.”

“Hidden Figures” is the untold true story of Katherine G. Johnson (Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janielle Monae), three African American women in the late 1950s/early 1960s NASA space program, whose calculations and contributions helped launch John Glenn into orbit. The film will be released on December 25th, 2016.

Taraji P. Henson was born in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Howard University, where she studied drama. Her breakthrough film role was “Baby Boy” in 2001, followed by “Hustle & Flow” in 2005. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” (2008), and has key roles in “The Karate Kid” remake (2010), Larry Crowne (2011) and Top Five (2014).
