CHICAGO – Actor Gabrielle Union is pulling no punches in her first book, “We’re Going to Need More Wine.” The memoir includes Union’s account of rape when she was a teenager. And at her book event sponsored by Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville (Ill.), she spoke of her experiences with sexual harassment in her career.

Gabrielle Union was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and after her family moved to California, she attended both the University of Nebraska and UCLA. After modeling her Senior Year in college, she got roles in the teen movies “She’s All That”, “10 Things I Hate About You” (both 1999) and “Bring it On” (2000). She had her first lead role in “Deliver Us from Eva” (2003), and got good reviews for the offbeat independent film, “Neo Ned” (2005). Recently, she has appeared in “Think Like a Man” (2012), and in last year’s “The Birth of a Nation” and “Almost Christmas.”

Photographer Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com took this Exclusive Photo of Gabrielle Union during her Anderson’s Bookshop promotion for “We’re Going to Need More Wine,” at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville on October 26th, 2017.
