This taut psychological thriller is both highly bump-in-the-night edgy and symbolically intuitive. It takes on issues like mental health, financial distress and what stability in America really means. Director Jason Miller is part of a new evolution in the horror/thriller movement, in which the parts of our nature that are most likely to be afraid are the ones that we wake up with every morning. With this well-received and well-intentioned feature debut, Miller becomes a writer/director to watch for.
