‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘New Moon’ Gets New Art, Changes Name to ‘The Twilight Saga’s New Moon’

CHICAGOMTV broke the news moments ago that “New Moon,” which is the highly anticipated sequel to “Twilight,” will now be called “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon”. What do you think of the title change? Let us know in the comment section below.

MTV also revealed the logo for the new Chris Weitz film starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner. It’s very similar to the first “Twilight” but with a new orange tint, a moon logo and the film’s “11.20.09” release date.

With longer sequel titles being much more interesting than numbered ones in recent years (i.e. “The Dark Knight” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”), the move to “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” makes sense. As for the logo art, “Twilight” had a blue tint. “New Moon” has an orange one. They’re distinct but similar enough to tie them into the same saga.

The Chris Weitz-directed sequel will star Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene and perhaps Lucy Hale, AnnaLynne McCord and Dakota Fanning both of whom were the subject of recent casting rumors. The new logo can be found below.

“Twilight,” which stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner from director Catherine Hardwicke, has grossed $178 million domestically. This put the “New Moon” sequel into production immediately and has spawned a series of casting rumors. Other books in the Stephenie Meyer series include “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”.

Why?

New Moon” was short, sweet and the to point. “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” is too wordy. People are still going to call it “New Moon”.

The new title is sort of retarded. It seems like they desperately want people to get that this is the sequel to the big box office hit “Twilight”. We know, thank you.
Just stick to “New Moon”, please.
