CHICAGO – News surfaced yesterday in Hebrew that Israeli actor Alon Aboutboul has been cast in “The Dark Knight Rises” as a mad scientist, but embarrassingly, this reporter only went to “American Hebrew school” and can’t actually understand Hebrew.

CHICAGO – While Christopher Nolan is busy preparing for the imminent “The Dark Knight Rises” shoot at St. John Street in London following filming in India, the suits back in the U.S. are butting heads over the business of the expected cash cow and who’s going to get fat from it.

CHICAGO (Exclusive) – Batman filming fever is back in full swing. Now that director Christopher Nolan has wrapped his first filming location for “The Dark Knight Rises” in Jodhpur, India, the master of mystery is busy preparing for his shoot next week at St. John Street in London.

CHICAGO – Following our report on Saturday that filming for “The Dark Knight Rises” began in Jodhpur, India with set photos that leaked from there, it has now been confirmed that director Christopher Nolan and his henchmen have moved filming to St. John Street in London.

CHICAGO (potential spoiler alert) – This weekend, three news gems surfaced on the highly anticipated “The Dark Knight Rises”. First, filming officially began on May 6, 2011 in Jodhpur, India. Second, fan spies have already snapped and leaked the first official set image: an enigmatic green pool.

CHICAGO – “Rio” is a film that nearly defies critical review. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it and I can virtually guarantee you that the little ones in your family will be captivated by the talking, dancing birds with the colorful plumage. But it’s also a film that’s strikingly unmemorable. The characters, the jokes, and even the striking visuals – they all dissipate from the memory like a piece of candy that seems tasty in the moment but ultimately isn’t very filling. “Rio” isn’t a bad movie but with great family entertainment options out there, just being “not bad” isn’t good enough.

CHICAGO – An unusual new theme in the American romantic comedy is the couple who starts with sex and ends with love a la “No Strings Attached” and the recent “Love and Other Drugs” with Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, now on DVD and Blu-ray. Critic Patrick McDonald HATED the film, putting it on his worst of the year, which I think may be a little harsh, but it’s a definite disappointment given the talent involved. Those of you looking for a romantic comedy can do better and so can the stars of this failed one.

CHICAGO – “The King’s Speech” reigned supreme at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards February 27, 2011. After its recent award victories, the British drama was widely expected to win in the categories of Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay (the film snagged all three accolades).
