CHICAGO – We’ve seen him grow from a “Wimpy Kid” to a teenage movie star. Zachary Gordon stars as Greg Heffley in the latest film in a popular series, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.” Gordon was in Chicago promoting the film on opening weekend, and is making appearances at the Hollywood Palms Cinema in Naperville, Ill, and Hollywood Blvd. Cinema in Woodridge.

Film Review: Total Retread for ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days’

CHICAGO – The month of August contain the “dog days” of summer, when the season lumbers to a hazy and hot conclusion. Film Review: ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules’ is Wacky Family Fare

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

CHICAGO – The overwrought movie term “family fare” can automatically inspire a swift movement toward the exits. Blu-Ray Review: Inconsistent ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ Not For Whole Family

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

CHICAGO – I am not (quite) yet old enough to have completely blocked out the socially treacherous days of middle school. For most kids, life is cruising smoothly until they get to middle school when cliques, popularity, and the opposite sex start to become a daily dilemma. Such is the subject matter of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” a cute-but-flawed family comedy with a few good laughs and strong supporting performances but generally silly tone that never quite comes together into something memorable.
