CHICAGO – When you’re the #1 network on TV, it must be tempting to stay the course. However, CBS always shakes things up a bit and this year is no different.
CHICAGO – The new FOX prehistoric series “Terra Nova” was a bit of a disappointment in its premiere episode Monday night, posting a 3.1 rating in the highly coveted 18-49 age group. The show premiered for two hours from 7-9 p.m. CST.
CHICAGO – Well, that was predictable. As expected, audiences were curious about how “Two and a Half Men” would handle the departure of Charlie Sheen and the arrival of Ashton Kutcher. The most important demo numbers aren’t in yet but the overall household ratings (the first numbers released) were ludicrously high with season premiere numbers for the CBS hit that doubled last year’s first episode.
CHICAGO – Fans of the 1987 film “Dirty Dancing” may need to dust off their dancing shoes and get ready to have the time of their life again. Kenny Ortega, the choreographer of the original “Dirty Dancing” as well as the director of the “High School Musical” films and the Michael Jackson documentary “This Is It,” has been in contact with Lionsgate about directing a remake of the Patrick Swayze/Jennifer Grey original.
CHICAGO – We will know the full schedule tomorrow but CBS has been revealing it by bits and pieces all week, canceling “Mad Love” & “The Defenders,” renewing “Blue Bloods” & “Hawaii Five-0,” and giving us one of each today, canceling “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and giving “CSI: NY” another year.
CHICAGO – The New York Times is reporting (but nowhere else yet so we’ll call it a “rumor”) that CBS will announce that three programs from the 2010-11 season will get a shot at breaking the sophomore slump — “Blue Bloods,” “Hawaii Five-0,” and “Mike & Molly”.
CHICAGO – James MacArthur, a stage and screen actor best known for playing the booking agent Danno in the 1960s version of the TV show “Hawaii Five-0,” died on October 28th, 2010, of natural causes. He was 72. HollywoodChicago.com interviewed MacArthur last March at the Hollywood Celebrities and Memorabilia Show.
CHICAGO – The Hollywood Celebrities & Memorabilia Show is back in Chicago this weekend, September 25th and 26th, and the last time it came around some popular TV stars of the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s participated. Dawn Wells, Willie Aames, James MacArthur and Ken Kercheval were there.
CHICAGO – Describing Steve McGarrett’s new resume, the Governor of Hawaii intones, “Annapolis, five years Naval Intelligence, six years in the Seals…the best they’ve ever seen.” Immediately this is not your Daddy’s Five-0. Alex O’Louglin is McGarrett and Scott Caan is Danno in CBS’s “Hawaii Five-0,” debuting Monday, September 20th, 2010, at 9pm CST.
CHICAGO – The broadcast network rookie class of 2009 was one of the best of all time with “Community,” “Glee,” “Modern Family,” “The Good Wife,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “The Middle,” and “Cougar Town” finding loyal fans.
