Iron Man
Blu-ray Review: ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Has Little Fun With High Concept
Submitted by mattmovieman on December 7, 2011 - 6:37amCHICAGO – For all of its ambition and integrity, Jon Favreau’s “Cowboys & Aliens” is a dull genre exercise devoid of charm or wit. Whereas “Iron Man” got a great deal of mileage out of Robert Downey Jr.’s deadpan persona, this sci-fi/western hybrid is marred by its two one-note leads: the morose Daniel Craig and the snarly Harrison Ford. Viewers expecting a “Bond meets Indy” lark a la “The Last Crusade” will be sorely disappointed.

Film Feature: The Marvel Comics Movie Awards
Submitted by BrianTT on May 4, 2011 - 4:01pmCHICAGO – When “Thor” hits theaters this Friday, it will be 22nd Marvel Comics movie to make it to the big-screen since “Blade” rebooted Marvel’s box office potential back in 1998. There have been more Marvel movies if you count such Marvel-owned properties as “Men in Black” or “Kick-Ass” (or if you count the cheesy straight-to-VHS Marvel movies of the 80s and 90s), but “Blade” was the first “modern” Marvel superhero flick.

Submitted by BrianTT on February 21, 2011 - 12:30pmCHICAGO – “Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds” plays like a comic and video game geek’s fan fiction come true. What would happen if your favorite comic characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wolverine not only fought each other but went at it against your most-beloved video game icons like Chris Redfield (“Resident Evil”), Nathan Spencer (“Bionic Commando”), and Chun-Li (“Street Fighter”)?
