Blu-Ray Review: Spectacular Fifth Season of Showtime’s ‘Dexter’
Submitted by BrianTT on August 15, 2011 - 4:56pmCHICAGO – Showtime’s “Dexter” was in a precarious position in season five after essentially blowing up their own program at the end of season four. Would they jump the shark or keep taking incredible risks? The result is definitely the latter as this turned out to be one of the best seasons of Michael C. Hall’s incredible program and it will be available on Blu-ray and DVD this week.

Blu-Ray Review: Stunning Fourth Season of Showtime’s ‘Dexter’
Submitted by BrianTT on August 23, 2010 - 2:29pmCHICAGO – Very, very few programs hit their creative peak in their fourth season but that was the surprising turn of events that took place on Showtime last fall with the amazing “senior year” of “Dexter,” a dark horse to win the upcoming Emmy for Outstanding Dramatic Series. The fourth season is now available on Blu-ray and it’s a must-see for everyone, even if you haven’t kept up with this award-winning program over the years. It’s spectacular, riveting drama.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Dexter: The Second Season’ is Killer in HD
Submitted by BrianTT on May 19, 2009 - 7:01pmCHICAGO – When “Dexter: The Second Season” was originally released on standard DVD, I lamented the fact that it wasn’t released on HD Blu-Ray and barely had any special features. I hoped that CBS/Paramount would come around to the Blu-Ray craze by season three and they’ve done just that by catching up with the first two seasons of “Dexter,” now in HD.
Blu-Ray Review: ‘Quarantine’ With Jennifer Carpenter Rocks But Forgets Roots
Submitted by BrianTT on February 18, 2009 - 4:19pmBlu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0 |
CHICAGO – “Quarantine” leaves this hardcore horror junkie conflicted. The film itself is one of the better genre entries of 2008, a thrill ride that will satisfy nearly everyone who rents or buys it on Blu-Ray. But the special features on the disc omit something unbelievably important and, in doing so, leave a bad taste in my mouth.
