Bat-Woman, The

CHICAGO – Get out your Lucha Libre Mexican Wrestling masks, a special film double feature is being presented by The National Museum of Mexican Art at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre. “The Bat-Woman” (1968) and “The Panther Women” (1967) have both had a 4K Restoration, score tickets and details by clicking FEMALE LUCHA LIBRE.

CHICAGO – Eddie Muller, the film historian known as the “Czar of Noir,” is about to prove his point. In about 20 minutes of PART TWO to an interview conducted a couple weeks ago, Muller shares his rich knowledge about all things shadowy in the 1940s/50s era of film noir.

Noir City: Chicago 2022

CHICAGO – It’s always darkest before the dawn, and an entire genre of film is available for Chicago. The historic Music Box Theatre presents “Noir City: Chicago 2022” – August 26th-September 1st, 2022 – the celebration of “film noir,” the dark category of film drama that usually takes place at night, and features a rogues gallery of dames, gumshoes, coppers and crooks.

CHICAGO – It’s been three years, there is definitely a need to get together and destroy something. So in the spirit of this urge, power couple filmmaker Jack C. Newell and Rebecca Fons of the Gene Siskel Film Center, will conduct their 4th “Destroy Your Art” event, back from its last incarnation in 2019. The idea is a filmmaker creates a film, shows it once to the audience, and then destroys it forever. This will take place this year at the historic Music Box Theatre on August 25th, 2022. CHICAGO – One of the realizations that came out of the pandemic was that Drive-In movie theaters are still viable. When regular theaters closed, the Drive-In filled the void where they were available. Filmmaker April Wright has had a lifelong love for the Drive-In, and has explored their revival and challenges afterward in “Back to the Drive-In.” The documentary will have a limited two-day (April 13/14, 2022) run at the historic Music Box Theatre in Chicago, click DRIVE-IN DREAMS for showtimes.

CHICAGO – The 9th Chicago Critics Film Festival (CCFF) wrapped on May 19th, 2022, with the featured Closing Night film, “I Love My Dad.” The film stars Patton Oswalt and James Morosini (who also wrote and directed the film), and both appeared on behalf of the film, in addition to cast members Claudia Sulewski and Amy Landecker.
