CHICAGO – The Midwest Film Festival is celebrating the season with their upcoming “Summer Bash & Comedy Screening” on July 28th, 2021 (7pm), at the Chi-Town Drive In. The event will feature a meet-and-greet and an evening of funny-bone short films, including “Open House,” a directorial debut by Mikaela McParlan. CHICAGO – Women in Film Chicago (WIFC) continues its role as one of the best resource and advocacy groups for women filmmakers and their supporters. The organization has roots to the 1970s, when the first WIFC group was formed in Los Angeles, and the Chicago chapter has experienced strong growth, both in numbers and what it offers to its membership. The WIFC will be celebrating all of this with their Open House, January 26th, 2017, at Columbia College in Chicago (details below).

CHICAGO – One of the most substantial local show business advocacy groups is Women in Film Chicago (WIFC). What began in Los Angeles in the 1970s, has become viable in Chicago over the last several years, and continues to be voice for women in the business in the city and in general. Carrie Hunter was just named the new president of WIFC, which will be conducting an open house on January 14th, 2016.
