The soundtrack album for “Once” has been released by Canvasback, Columbia Records and Sony Music Soundtrax.

New Line Records will release the soundtrack to the upcoming New Line Cinema film “Hairspray” on July 10.

As pointed out by Jeffrey Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere and Michael Phillips at the Chicago Tribune, “Once” has been rated “R” by the MPAA for a “handful of swear words”.

It seems someone has spent the time to count 39 of them starting with the letter “f”. This is one of the MPAA’s worst calls in some time.

On June 5, Hollywood will see a hand and footprint ceremony in advance of the June 8 release of “Ocean’s Thirteen”. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Jerry Weintraub will attend.

Las Vegas, which is where the film’s story is set, is the next stop in its tour. A benefit screening will open this year’s CineVegas Film Festival on June 6.

The Chicago premiere is set for June 7 at AMC River East. George Clooney, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Ellen Barkin, Bernie Mac and Jerry Weintraub will be in attendance at the non-public fund-raiser.

“Ocean’s Thirteen” had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24.

“Mr. Brooks” opened on June 1, “Knocked Up” opened on June 1, “Nancy Drew” opens on June 15 and “Evening” opens on June 29.

“Mr. Bean’s Holiday” opens on Aug. 24, “Illegal Tender” opens on Aug. 24, “Mr. Woodcock” opens on Sept. 14, “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” opens on Oct. 12 and “The Tale of Despereaux” is scheduled to open on Dec. 19, 2008.

The release date for “License to Wed” has changed from July 4 to July 3. The release for “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” in theatres and IMAX has changed from July 13 to July 11.

“The Strangers” from Rogue Pictures has moved off its July release date and will not be opening this summer.

At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Jerry Seinfeld – the creator of DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming “Bee Movie” – was tethered to a wire suspended from the roof of the Carlton Hotel.

Dressed as a bee, Seinfeld flew down over the Croisette as festival attendees looked on.

Robert Rodriguez of “Planet Terror” and “Sin City” will direct “Barbarella,” which is an adaptation of the classic science-fiction comic-book series. Universal Pictures will distribute the film, which is scheduled to be released worldwide in 2008.

Rogue Pictures has optioned the rights to the comic-book series “Super Bad James Dynomite” by the Wayans Brothers along with the action-comedy movie adaptation “Dynomite” that the Wayans Brothers are preparing.
