A lot of people want to know the differences between the original iPad and iPad 2 unveiled recently. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s changed, and what hasn’t changed.

Original iPad VS iPad 2 - Size

The iPad 2 follows the style of super-slim iPod touch, measuring 0.34 inches in thickness and weighing in at 1.33 pounds. These changes might sound subtle, but once you feel the iPad 2 in your hands, the difference is significant especially when carrying the tablet for extended periods of time. Apple is quick to point out the iPad 2 is 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter (depending if you buy the WiFi or WiFi+3G model).

Original iPad VS iPad 2 - Processor

The iPad A4 is an ARM Cortex-A8-based core clocked at 1GHz. It’s a fully-integrated system-on-a-chip (SoC), that was rumoured to be manufactured by Samsung for Apple. The iPad 2 introduces the A5, a dual-core chip based on the new ARM Cortex-A9 design. That’s the same basic architecture as the other dual-core tablet processors such as the Nvidia Tegra 2. The A5 is clocked at 1 GHz too.

Original iPad VS iPad 2 - Screen

No change here - The iPad 2 makes use of the same 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS 1024 x 768 screen as the original iPad. At this point one unknown relating to the screen is what graphics processor Apple has used. The original iPad used a PowerVR SGX 535 chip. We’ll have to wait for the teardowns to find this out.

Original iPad VS iPad 2 - Storage

The options for storage remain the same - 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

Original iPad VS iPad 2 - Graphics

Like the iPhone 4, the iPad and iPad 2 both have anImagination TechnologiesPowerVR SGX-based graphics chip. Apple is promising nine times better graphics for iPad 2 versus the original iPad. The iPad use PowerVR SGX 535 chip. The new chip is thought to have four pipes, but can that produce a 9x increase?

If you really bring iPad,

If you really bring iPad, iPad 2 compared with the case, at least not a big difference in the software, as Apple has released a line of earlier products OS4.3. Hardware is largely changed a faster processor, dual-core Apple A5 increased to 512MB of memory , more than a pair of cameras, etc., so the feeling of everyone, mainly the transformation of the above in the design, like the Apple ads words: lighter, thinner, longer life, more than the white version.

So, iPad 2 can also iPad with the same generation, reflecting its dominance in the flat world it? At first glance, I am afraid the hardware can not stand out like last time, but can still be listed in the row header; For consumers, the most important key, it is the problem should not start for users to iPad said, iPad 2 is worth buying to replace iPad, Apple is new to what should discard other options, willing to pay to buy iPad 2 it?
