Transformers 3, Ridealong, and Your Cheating Heart to start filming in Chicago this Spring

According to ReelChicago, Filming is going to picking up this Spring in Chicago.

Last year Little Fockers, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and other films and TV shows were produced in Chicago. This year looks to be off to a great start with news of three major productions starting this March.

Fox Television has given a greenlight to the Shawn Ryan pilot, an hourlong cop drama, “Ridealong,” a potential Fox series that could be shot in its entirety here. Rockford, Ill. native Ryan scripted and will be executive producer. He is the creator and was the main writer of the multi-honored and long-running gritty TV series, “The Shield.”

Ridealong will center on three groups of police officers, ranging from uniformed beat cops to the female chief of police. “There will be a few twists that make it different from other cop shows on the air and will make it Fox-like,” Ryan said.

Ryan’s goal is to make Chicago a central character in the tv show.

Vince Vaughn is set to star in Ron Howard’s Comedy “Your Cheating Heart”. This film is set to start filming in April or May in Chicago.

Also in May will be Transformers 3, which is set to shoot in Chicago. At the moment it is unclear whether it will be a long term shoot with many scenes filmed there, or just exteriors.
