Sleeping Beauty at Theatre at the Center
Munster, INDIANA –Theatre at the Center’s 2011-2012 Theatre For Young Audiences Season kicks off with the musical adaptation of the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty. Will the princess sleep for 100 years? Or will her prince come save her with a kiss? Find out October 6 through October 8 at Theatre at the Center’s Theatre for Young Audiences, located at 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana.
Sleeping Beauty tells the story of a beautiful Princess, a handsome Prince, and a bunch of crazy fairies. Three fairies throw a party to celebrate the birth of the new Princess, but one fairy was not invited! Angered, she crashes the party and bestows on the new baby a horrible curse. Sleeping Beauty will sleep for eternity unless her fairy friends can find a prince to break the curse. With no prince in sight, and the angry fairy hovering, will the curse ever be broken? Sleeping Beauty is a timeless story of love and magic that is sure to delight children of all ages. Groups in attendance will have the chance to join the fun by entering the Sleeping Beauty coloring contest. The winner will receive a four pass to Fair Oaks Farms in Fair Oaks, Indiana.
Founded in 1991, Theatre at the Center is a year-round professional theater at its home, The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana. Theatre at the Center is conveniently located off I-80/94, just 35 minutes from downtown Chicago.
All performances are one hour. Group performances are October 6 and 7 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. The public performances will be on October 8 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Group prices are $6.50 per student, adult tickets are $8.00 and groups of 100 or more students are only $5.50 per student and $8.00 per adult. One complimentary ticket is issued for every 25 paid student reservations. One Study Guide is also issued per Group or may be down-loaded from the theatre’s website.
