Dimly Perceived Threats to the System at the Gorilla Tango Theatre

Chicago, IL (April 4 – 13, 2008): Katie McClatchey is making her Chicago debut this year with Jon Klein’s very trenchant, dark and funny script, DIMLY PERCEIVED THREATS TO THE SYSTEM, which will perform Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm, April 4 – 13, 2008 at Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago 60647. Tickets are $15; to purchase tickets call 773-598-4549 or visit www.gorillatango.com. Rated R.

Marlys Hauser is a management consultant who can’t manage the dysfunction within her own home. Her husband, Josh, has been developing a film about the American Family in Crisis for the past several years – all the while beginning an affair with his own Producer as he attempts to deal with the gradual death of his mother. Their deeply disturbed and comically dysfunctional 13 year-old daughter, Christine, torments her school therapist – when she’s not channeling the spirit of her Grandmother or eating french fries for breakfast. Fantasy and reality collide throughout as this unforgettable family struggles to stave off a nervous breakdown and discover what it means to love unconditionally.

Katie McClatchey has been acting since the age of 9 and has appeared in many West Coast premiers. She studied theater at the University of Oregon and has trained with The Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She has been living and teaching drama in Chicago for the past year. DIMLY PERCEIVED THREATS TO THE SYSTEM marks her eighth full-length production as producer and director.

DIMLY PERCEIVED THREATS TO THE SYSTEM features Alden Moore, Darren Smithe, Keri Kaufman, Jes Bedwinek, Kevin Lucero Less and Kelley Addis with sound composition by Home Surgery.
