On May 4, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Facets Cinematheque (1517 W. Fullerton in Chicago), Jonathan Rosenbaum’s passage from his longtime tenure at the Chicago Reader will be celebrated. They say:

Quote:
For decades, esteemed critic Jonathan Rosenbaum redefined film criticism and often pushed audiences to recognize challenging work. His sometimes controversial stance on issues has fostered public debate and served to make films the epicenter of artistic discourse.

At that event, Milos Stehlik (Facets executive director) and Charles Coleman (Facets Cinematheque film program director) will have a discussion with Rosenbaum about why “film continues to be so important in our lives”. The event is free for facets members and $5 for non-members.

For advance registration, call 773-281-9075 or go to http://www.facets.org/cinematheque.
