Beirut By Alan Bowne
The Storytellers Theatre Company presents “Beirut”
(Chicago, IL — January 2008): The third season of The Storytellers kicks off with Alan Bowne’s critically-acclaimed Broadway play, “Beirut”, starring Kelley Ristow and company-member Jason LeCompte.
Would you rather love free on the inside or live dead on the outside?
Set in the not-so-distant future, “Beirut” is the story of Torch, a tough loner who falls in love just as the plague that is destroying the free world takes him for a victim, quarantining him to the ghetto in New York City. His girlfriend Blue is the real prisoner however, because the world in which she lives has been terrorized by its own government. She is left with no choice but to sneak in to be with him, regardless of the potentially lethal consequences…
This is a not-to-be-missed theatre event — but leave the kiddies at home, as this show contains strong language, mild violence, nudity and sexual situations.
Showtimes: Friday and Saturday at 6pm Sundays at 5pm
