Doug (JUSTIN BARTHA) is getting married. He agrees to attend a pre-wedding bachelor party in Las Vegas with his irresponsible friend Phil (BRADLEY COOPER), his up-tight girlfriend-deceiving dentist friend Stu (ED HELMS) & his off-kilter future brother-in-law Alan (funny “let-it-all-hang-out” ZACK GALIFIANAKIS). The more time they spend in Sin City, the LESS they remember about their Sins— having an unauthorized “pet” in their highly-damaged room, engaging in an unplanned marriage for one of the friends, being attacked & threatened by angry strangers, putting up with Alan’s screwy antics, acquiring someone’s baby, LOSING Doug, etc. They have a “catty” meeting with MIKE TYSON, try to scam the casinos, and keep concealing things from various girlfriends as they try to figure out what’s happened & how to “FIX” it. It’s a gross-out “screwball” comedy with more kooky nuttiness than cleverness; but, if you’re into periodically-X-rated humor, you’ll probably find this an enjoyable, well-acted outing directed by Todd Phillips (who did “Old School”. As “Capone” pointed out before the film ran, Warner Brothers is giving Todd “leeway” to try to build a position in comedy films; & a “Hangover 2” is supposedly in “development”). Watch the end credits for photos that add info about the Vegas adventures!
