CHICAGO – There is no better time to take in a stage play that is based in U.S. history, depicting the battle between fact and religion. The old theater chestnut – first mounted in 1955 – is “Inherit the Wind,” now at the Goodman Theatre, completing it’s short run through October 20th. For tickets and more information, click INHERIT.

Film School Rejects had this story four days ago, and now Variety has the official announcement: Ellen Page will star in Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, “Whip It!”
The screenplay was written by Shauna Cross, based on the semi-autobiographical YA novel Derby Girl, about roller derby girls in Austin, TX. (The aforementioned Film School Reject article is an interview with Cross.)
This makes me mad.
I have the utmost respect for Ellen Page’s talent. I have little respect for Drew Barrymore’s. This feels like a bad match.
