Love Me Some Smith

Clerks II was one of the great underrated films of last year and made Hank’s Top Ten. Here’s what I said…

Clerks II – Proudly profane, but winsomely profound, Director/writer Kevin Smith’s wonderful American journey of his ‘Clerks’ characters from 1994 gets the follow-up treatment. Dante Hicks (Brian O’Halloran), who can never pass up an obscene concept and Randall Graves (Jeff Anderson), the mopey, fearful pessimist, are joined by fast food manager Becky (Rosario Dawson) in their new job at the burger joint Mooby’s. Above (below?) the coverage of crude jokes and sex act descriptions (a specific carnal act) is a masterful story that revels in the true meaning and success of life. Who-da thunk it? HIGHLIGHT: The impromptu and hilarious dance. You could subtitle this film ‘It’s a Wonderful Clerks.’ **** stars

This is only four days old. I’m not sure they’re going to keep them up during shooting.
