Is there a way to see if there are new messages in a forum from the main discussion board page? I know currently it shows if there are new messages in the individual forums.

I agree. I was just browsing the forums and noticed that, too. It’d be very helpful. Right now, you have to browse into a particular forum to see if something’s new.
You should be able to see this on the main discussion page. So far you can really only tell on the main page by when content was last posted. I’ll look into this.
