Beautiful Mind is one of the Best movies ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful Mind is a work of art!!! Mr. Ron Howard did an amazing job producing and directing this film! I not only had the opportunity to view this movie from an audience standpoint but I also had the opportunity to view it from a psychological stand point. I was able to view deeper and in a way connect with what Ron’s vision and the feeling that he was trying to portray to the viewers. I analyzed the entire movie and realized that Ron Howard is one of the greatest directors of all time. Not only did he direct the movie in a way that most Psychologist would not even be able to argue with but he showed of his talent turned this movie from a movie to a masterpiece. He was able to help me in becoming more familiar with the disease in a way that no book could have ever could have described it. There are certain things that a truly talented director can artistically direct portrayal of, that will never be able to be written on paper. That’s when you know, how truly talented a person really is. I not only acknowledge Mr. Ron Howard’s talent as a director but also his talent on the other side of the lens, and his determination, perseverance, heart, and work ethic during his reign in Hollywood.
Here is part of my psychological analysis that Mr. Howard helped me conclude from a Beautiful Mind:

The condition that was portrayed in the film, A Beautiful Mind is paranoid schizophrenia. Paranoid Schizophrenia is the presence of prominent delusions or auditory hallucinations in the context of a relative preservation of a cognitive functioning and effect. Unlike in the Disorganized and Catatonic types of schizophrenia, disorganized speech, flat or inappropriate affect, catatonic, or disorganized behavior are not usual. Delusions are probably the most prominent characteristic. The delusions are usually organized around a consistent theme. Auditory and visual hallucinations are also very usual and are usually related to the consistent theme of delusions. Other associated features of paranoid schizophrenics could include anger, anxiety, aloofness, and argumentativeness. The persecutory themes may predispose the person suffering from schizophrenia to violence, violent, or suicidal behavior. The individuals show very little to no impairment on neuropsychological or cognitive testing……

Thank you and hope to win those tickets to the event honoring one of the best directors or our time ;)

Backdraft

I would say my favorite film is Backdraft. It highlights Chicago and filmed on scene. It also creates respect for fireman, and understanding of what fireman go through everyday.

Angels and Demons

I would say the movie Angel and Demons is my favorite movie done by Ron Howard. It was very thought provactive and gave me a lot of things to think about. It gave me a new view to the Catholic religion and its history.

Cinderella Man

For me Cinderella Man. It was one of two boxing films (the other Raging Bull), that I’ve ever seen that actually made me feel an emotional connection to the fighter. One of his best dramatic efforts as well.

Thank you Ron Howard!

I had the pleasure of being on extra on the current “Cheaters” movie Mr. Howard is filming in Chicago. I had a film geek “moment” when I heard him call out “Action” and “cut” on set. Reason being? I was a teenager living in Bridgeport when the movie “Backdraft” was being filmed and it was the first time I had seen a major motion picture being filmed in our city. He executed such a great movie about the lives of real life heros such as firefighters. I got to see some of the movie being filmed, like the scenes at the CHinatown FireStation and little would I know that nearly 20 years later I would be on the set of one of his films as an actor. I would love the oppurtunity to thank him in person, as I feel that he is one the truly great directors of the last generation.

Truly an Inspirational Filmmaker

It was a hard decision to decide which film affected me the most because in essence, a number of Ron Howard’s film have. Only one has really affected me in terms of my personal life. A Beautiful Mind hit close to home because my partner and I have a family member that has Schizophrenia. This film characterizes a man that struggles with this illness perfectly. The visual/audio hallucinations, the effects of anti-psychotic drugs, and the effect this disease has, not only on the person with the illness but what love ones have to go through. I’ve been there, I’ve seen it, and it’s beyond comprehension. This film and our family member inspired my partner and I to bring more awareness to this illness, which has many misconceptions, by writing a short film about a man’s loneliness and daily struggle with this disease. Our family members father begged us to write this script and our family member went over the many different drafts that we had, which was a blessing to have him ok the subject matter. I just wanted to say thank you to Mr. Howard for his inspirational and well thought out films. They opened my eyes to what the meaning of a filmmaker really is. Whether this gets read or not, Ron you are an inspiration and keep up the great work and inspiring fellow filmmakers because you’re doing a heck of a job.

Sincerely, Brian

Beautiful Insight

As a filmmaker and film enthusiast, I’m ashamed to say that it took me nine years after its release to see A Beautiful Mind. However, as someone with close, personal experience with mental disorders not unlike John Nash’s, I was genuinely moved when I finally was afforded the opportunity to see this movie just last night. Not only did it entertain me for the entirety of the film, but it also provided be with a new and profound insight into the mind of those suffering from schizophrenic disorders. Though I myself do not suffer from any such mental conditions, I have close friends and relations that do, and I feel that this movie has truly captured the mentality of a schizophrenic in ways that no other film or work of artistic expression has ever been able to. For the gift of this insight, as well as the decades of entertainment that you have provided me and my family, my hat is off to you, Mr. Howard.
