Fearful of institutionalized irresopnsibility
I am fearful that government regulation, government control, and outright government “ownership” of large portions of the Earth and its resources will lead to gross misuse, waste, and destruction because of the resultant lack of personal, individual responsibility for human actions which leads in turn to the inefficient use and depletion of natural resources. Private ownership has proven to be the best guarantee of efficient use and long-term conservation of the planet’s natural resources.
