CHICAGO – Does anyone remember when Lindsay Lohan made headlines for film roles instead of legal troubles? It seems like LiLo would like to go back to those days as she’s reportedly eyeing a new role in a big screen drama according to Radar Online.

A producer named Nathan Folks told the website that Lindsay Lohan has committed to star in a movie called “Escaping the Game,” which will shoot this summer in Spain and the United States. He told the site, “She wants to do it. It’s about celebs who become very famous and can’t take it.

Believe it or not, the site reports that the film is about celebrities who fake their own deaths to avoid the tabloid world and Lohan would play an investigator who tries to get to the bottom of it all. No word as to whether or not Tupac Shakur and Kurt Cobain look-a-likes are being cast.

As for the liability involved in casting Lindsay Lohan, Folks said, “We can get her insured if she is with someone who is keeping an eye on her 24/7. Lindsay and I’ve discussed it and she’s already agreed to the condition…She’s doing great and we’re going to prove to the world that she’s back.

Except for a small part in “Machete,” Lindsay Lohan has basically been out of theaters since “I Know Who Killed Me” in 2007. Before that, she had a streak of big-screen roles in “Georgia Rule,” “Bobby,” “Just My Luck,” “A Prairie Home Companion,” “Herbie Fully Loaded,” “Mean Girls,” “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen,” and “Freaky Friday.” She has been rumored for several upcoming projects besides “Escaping the Game,” including Zach Snyder’s “Superman: Man of Steel.” Only time will tell if Lindsay Lohan will be a comeback story or merely a cautionary tale.
