TV News: Cast Announced For ABC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’

CHICAGO – ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” announced their new line-up for the upcoming season and, once again, the unusual choices should raise an eyebrow or two and make some wonder what exactly makes someone a “Star”? In all seriousness, the producers of this mega-hit have put together another engaging line-up of semi-celebrities including Kirstie Alley, Kendra Wilkinson, Chris Jericho, and Ralph Macchio.

“Dancing With the Stars” returns on March 21st, 2011 and will features routines that include 11 celebrities — Alley, Wilkinson, Jericho, “Psycho” Mike Catherwood, Chelsea Kane, Sugar Ray Leonard, Macchio, Petra Nemcova, Romeo, Hines Ward, and Wendy Williams.

As ABC says, “A star-studded cast filled with celebrities across a variety of genres — including a boxing legend, a talk-show personality, a Super Bowl Steeler, a former Playboy bunny and a legendary comedic actress - are set to compete each week on the dance floor in the spectacular two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

All 11 couples will dance for the first time on live national television on MONDAY, MARCH 21, with couples either performing the Foxtrot or the Cha Cha Cha. The couple with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes for their performance will be sent home the following week on the season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show,” TUESDAY, MARCH 29 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).”
