Captain America
Name: Franco Arellano
Reason: The U.S Government gave Steve Rogers a costume based on the American Flag, an unbreakable shield and named him Captain America as the first super solider to fight the Nazi’s. His ancestor of Steven Rogers was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He was so patriotic and effective that his fellow soldiers nicknamed him “Captain America.” This was the first time the name was ever used, and it may have been the inspiration for the current title of Captain America.
Captain America
His name was given to him by the United States government FDR gave him his costume after the doctor that gave him the super serum was killed by a Nazi. Wanting to do the most with what they had left (since the ingredients for the serum were never written down so nazis couldn’t steal it) The government decided to use Steve Rogers as a superhero.
Kirby named him Captain American to be different from all the “super” heroes and felt that the patriotic spin would help sell comics.
The US government
He got his name from the government agency that expiremented on him.
I'm sure the wiki on Cap'n America was flooded with visitors!
Ivan Guerrero
So to reiterate what has been said he was a one-of a kind super soldier created to fight Hitler, Red Skull and other nasties threatening the way of life. He stands for freedom and rightousness, a symbol and beacon of a force that will never give up, never surrender, he is the personification of America. ‘Captain’ just makes him the leader! :)
