Where are the signature Catwoman cat ears?!

CHICAGO – For your TGIF treat today, Warner Bros. on Friday revealed the first official look at Anne Hathaway as the Catwoman in the upcoming highly anticipated Christopher Nolan Batman finale “The Dark Knight Rises”! This official look at the non-feline-eared Catwoman (otherwise known as Selina Kyle when she’s not in costume) joins the earlier official look at Tom Hardy as the villain Bane.

Instead of just seeing the official Catwoman image once, here we experience in-depth analysis of it in five slides! The Oscar-nominated Hathaway embodies the famous character following Julie Newmar, Eartha Kitt, Lee Meriwether, Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry. You can click “Next” and “Previous” to scan through this slideshow or jump directly to individual photos with the captioned links below. This official photo is courtesy of Warner Bros. and the in-image analysis is credited to MTV.

  1. Catwoman1: Where are the signature Catwoman cat ears?!
  2. Catwoman2: We have seen these goggles both in the comic and “Batman: Arkham Asylum”.
  3. Catwoman3: Bucking the comic trend, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman sports long brown hair rather than the more common short black hair.
  4. Catwoman4: Looks mysteriously similar to the Batpod made for Batman, eh?
  5. Catwoman5: The Catwoman suit has the same texture as the Henry Cavill suit in “Man of Steel” and the Andrew Garfield costume in “The Amazing Spider-Man”.
  6. “The Dark Knight Rises” will again star Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and Michael Caine as Alfred. The film also stars Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Diego Klattenhoff and Alon Aboutboul. Nestor Carbonell and Daniel Sunjata are currently rumored to be involved.

The film, which is again directed by Christopher Nolan, is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012. “The Dark Knight Rises” is written by David S. Goyer (story), Bob Kane (characters), Christopher Nolan (screenplay), Christopher Nolan (story) and Jonathan Nolan (screenplay) with original music from Hans Zimmer and cinematography by Wally Pfister.
