My Fave Student/Mentor Conflict

Batman Begins: Bruce Wayne vs. Ra’s Al Ghul. Intense and cool.

Student Mentor

Obi-Wan Kenobi V. Anakin Skywalker. It’s one of the greatest student mentor relationships and saddest. Obi-Wan treats Anakin like a son only to be betrayed in the end by one of the most iconic villans. FYI Karate Kid is not a student v. mentor film.

How about Dead Poets Society? Mona Lisa?

Teachers are the real mentors (or should be)

Mentor vs. Student

My favorite mentor vs. student took place in a favorite old black & white movie. The relationship was between Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis and was one of the most interesting movies ever made - “Sweet Smell of Success”.
