Blu-Ray News: ‘Super 8’ Release on Blu-Ray, DVD Combo Pack Set For Nov. 22, 2011
CHICAGO- This afternoon, Paramount Pictures announced the release date for their film “Super 8” on Blu-Ray will be Nov. 22, 2011. The release was announced in a statement that says the film will be sold in a Blu-Ray/DVD combination pack that also includes a Digital Copy for use on your computer or mobile device.
“Super 8” is the story of a group of friends that witness a train crash in their small Ohio town while filming a movie on their super 8 camera. However, this train crash is more than meets the eye, as the group of friends and the residents of their town start to notice strange occurrences and disappearances throughout the city and county.
The film was compared by many to the 1982 family film “E.T.: the Extra Terrestrial” for its subject matter and the fact that Steven Spielberg worked on both films. “Super 8” was written and directed by J.J. Abrams (“Lost,” “Mission Impossible III,” and “Star Trek”) and produced by the aforementioned Steven Spielberg. The film received critical praise including a 5 out of 5 rating from Hollywood Chicago’s Brian Tallerico.
