CHICAGO – A new photo from the set of the upcoming film “Snow White and the Huntsman” was released today, giving an inside look at Kristen Stewart in a full body armor suit. After years of “Twilight” work, Stewart looks to be taking on a much darker role as the new Snow White.

The photo, which appeared on The Improper this morning, reflect images that were first seen on July 23 at this year’s comic-con. The first photos also had Stewart suited up in armor, much like the new photo which includes her suit of armor, as well as a large shield that Stewart holds with what looks to be a white tree on the face.

“Snow White and the Huntsman” is a reimagining of the original Snow White story. In the new film, set for a June 1, 2012 release, the Huntsman that is sent out to take Snow White into the woods and kill her becomes her mentor and protector instead. They will work together to vanquish the Evil Queen.

As stated before, Stewart will be playing Snow White in th upcoming film. The Huntesman will be played by Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron will portray the Evil Queen. The cast also includes actors Ian McShane (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Deadwood”) and Nick Frost (“Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz”).

The new film will be the directorial debut of Rupert Sanders and the screenplay was written by Hossein Amini, who just wrote the screenplay for the Ryan Gosling film “Drive.”
