Here is the synopsis for “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”:
Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as the world’s most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, and Jude Law returns as his formidable colleague, Dr. Watson, in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”.
Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room – until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large – Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) – and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil (coupled with a complete lack of conscience) may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.
Holmes’ investigation into Moriarty’s plot becomes ever-more dangerous as it leads him and Watson out of London to France, Germany and finally Switzerland. But the cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead as he spins a web of death and destruction as a part of a greater plan that will change the course of history.
Filmmaker Guy Ritchie returned to direct “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” which is the follow up to the smash hit “Sherlock Holmes”. The sequel also reunited producers Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey and Dan Lin. Bruce Berman and Steve Clark-Hall served as executive producers.
Jared Harris (TV’s “Mad Men,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”) joins the cast as the notorious Professor Moriarty. In her first English-speaking role, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace (who gained international attention in the Swedish film “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”) plays Sim. Stephen Fry (“Alice in Wonderland,” “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”) is Mycroft Holmes (Sherlock’s older brother).
Additional cast members returning from the first film include Eddie Marsan as Inspector Lestrade; Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler; Kelly Reilly as Watson’s bride, Mary Morstan; and Geraldine James as Holmes’ long-suffering landlady, Mrs. Hudson. “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” is written by Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney.
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were created by the late Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and appear in stories and novels by him. Ritchie again collaborated with the behind-the-scenes team from the first movie: director of photography Philippe Rousselot, production designer Sarah Greenwood, editor James Herbert, costume designer Jenny Beavan and composer Hans Zimmer.

Sherlock Holmes is the best
Sherlock Holmes is by far the best detective ever and he goes back to even when I was a child. He has always had logical reasoning and when he solves cases he would use forensic science to do so. He is observant and pays close attention to details. His wit and knowledge allowed him to be one of the best when it comes to solving difficult cases.
His middle name
His middle name might as well be Slade, so there you go.
Because he’s a virtuoso
Because he’s a virtuoso violinist which gives him unparalleled skills of deduction.
Sherlock is perfect because...
…he’s SO imperfect. A genius with a drug addiction and has obsessive-compulsion issues??? It makes him the more interesting to read/watch…what’s the point of a flawless main character when no one would care enough to invest their time in them?

I like how in his stories he would figure things out with logic and reasoning.
Holmes is the best
Sherlock is by far the best because he doesn’t rely on gimmicks or luck to solve mysteries. Plus I believe he has hyperthymesia, a blessing and a curse that is used to his advantage.
