CHICAGO – Rockstar Games has given fans of the Max Payne series everywhere a chance to be a part of the game more than ever. A Twitter contest created by the video game company will pick out eight lucky fans to have their likeness rendered as eight gangsters in the multiplayer version of “Max Payne 3.”

In a release this morning, Rockstar explained the competition: “Beginning today and continuing through January 13, 2012, Rockstar Games is offering our Twitter followers the unique opportunity to be immortalized as one of eight Max Payne 3 multiplayer gang characters, just by using the #MaxPayne3 hashtag on Twitter,” the release said.

Every week from now until January 13, we will be selecting 10 people at random that have used the #MaxPayne3 hashtag. If selected, participants will be contacted either via tweet or direct message to submit a photo for consideration. Two finalists will be chosen from each group each week (eight people in total), and will have their likeness appear as a multiplayer gang character in the upcoming action shooter Max Payne 3.

The rules of the contest are very simple: Be sure to follow @RockstarGames on Twitter. When talking about the game, be sure to use the hashtag #MaxPayne3. Finally, keep an eye out for a direct message to you as winners only have 48 hours to respond.

“Max Payne 3” is scheduled for a March 2012 release for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and PS3.
