Here is the synopsis for “The Innkeepers”:

From director Ti West (“The House of the Devil”) comes “The Innkeepers”. The film is set in the venerable Yankee Pedlar Inn, which is about to shut its doors for good after more than a century of service. Believed by many to be one of New England’s “most haunted hotels,” the last remaining employees – Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) – are determined to uncover proof before it shuts down for good.

As the inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum-wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long and unexplained history.

Ghosts

You know how sometimes people talk about senses and being able to feel something. I guess there’s no technical proof but sometimes your inner self guides otherwise.

I think they exist.

I have heard a few personal stories from friends that seem pretty convincing. I trust them and that is the biggest reason I believe in ghosts. The only thing that ever happened to me that was a little spooky was when I worked as delivery guy for a furnace company. I was delivering some parts to a house that was under construction the Chicago area. I arrived at the house and I just got a really weird vibe about the place. I checked all the rooms on all the floors, and there was no one there. I had to put some items in the basement, so I did that first. The rest of the items went onto the top floor. I was putting the items in one of the rooms on the top floor when I heard someone coughing outside of the room. I thought that maybe someone had come in while I was working and I didn’t hear them or that maybe I missed someone, somehow. I went out and checked around, and no one was there. Definitely not the scariest thing in the world, and definitely not something to make someone believe in ghosts or not. But it was definitely spooky. Plain as day cough and no one was there. Needless to say, I finished my job up and got out of there.

proof that ghosts do or do not exist

When I was a little girl they used to visit us at an apartment we used to live in and everybody in the apt used to say they’d seen it at one time or another!
