Blu-ray Review: Massive Set For HBO’s ‘Entourage: The Complete Series’

CHICAGO – There was a time when I actually considered how great the “Entourage” complete series set would be one day. In the show’s prime, this comedy about the intersection of friendship and fame was brilliant. Carried by stellar performances from Jeremy Piven and Kevin Dillon, the great years of this show nearly justify the purchase of “Entourage: The Complete Series.” Just ignore how drastically the program went downhill in later years.

No one does massive TV sets like HBO. 18 discs. Hours of special features. Gorgeous, hardcover casing. This is a beautiful set although it will run you hundreds of dollars to get it. It’s for the hardcore fans at the holiday season. The one who still quotes Turtle or Ari and misses the saga of Eric and Sloane. If you’re unfamiliar with “Entourage,” get thee to HBO Go and make sure you’re ready to commit. This is for people who already love the show and are excited not only to own them all but to get the first five seasons in HD for the first time. And it should be judged on that basis. Everyone who loves “Entourage” from first to last episode will love this set. All others may want to think twice.

Synopsis:
Over eight seasons, the hit HBO comedy series Entourage followed hot young actor Vincent Chase, his three buddies (Eric, Drama, and Turtle) and his super-agent Ari along their journey through modern-day Hollywood.
