CHICAGO – There is no better time to take in a stage play that is based in U.S. history, depicting the battle between fact and religion. The old theater chestnut – first mounted in 1955 – is “Inherit the Wind,” now at the Goodman Theatre, completing it’s short run through October 20th. For tickets and more information, click INHERIT.
Film News: ‘12 Years a Slave,’ ‘American Hustle’ Poised to Win Golden Globes
The Golden Globes will be presented this Sunday, January 12, 2014, and the experts are busy picking their favorites to grace the stage when the winners are announced. Pitched as a more party-like atmosphere than the Oscars, and hosted by the hilarious Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, the Golden Globes have become more difficult to predict than most awards shows, in no small part because they give away SO many awards, breaking up film into drama & comedy and doing TV as well.
What is poised to win? Who are the favorites? These aren’t OUR predictions (we’re not doing a full feature this year), but there are consensus frontrunners per sites like GoldDerby.com and SportsBettingDime.com. Still time to get into an office pool or just make some definitive statements on your Facebook about what you KNOW will win? Here are the ones you should bet on:
