CHICAGO – The inroads of female filmmakers in cinema not only benefits our cultural reflection, but also offers points of view that are often different in their creative scope and storytelling ability. The Midwest Independent Film Festival – the “First Tuesday” Chicago happening – presents a program of women-centric shorts films on “Female Filmmakers Night,” Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016. From feminist issues to relationship variations to animated statements, the short film night offers multiple story platforms created and filmed by women. The Midwest Independent Film Festival is a year-round movie event in Chicago that takes place the first Tuesday of every month, at the Landmark Century Centre Cinema. The festival has been recognized by Chicago Magazine in their “Best of Chicago” issue, and has become one of the top places for local filmmakers, producers and actors to network in the city, as evidenced by the heavy hitters in attendance.

The Midwest Independent Film Festival Presents “Female Filmmakers Night” on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016, from 6 to 9pm. The festival takes place at the Landmark Century Centre Cinema, 2828 North Clark Street, Chicago.
