Film News: ‘Mrs. Maisel’ Rachel Brosnahan at Actors Training Center Fundraiser, Oct. 19, 2018

CHICAGO – She’s an Emmy Winner for a television character that lived in a different America, 60 years ago. Rachel Brosnahan is “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” of Amazon Prime, portraying Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a potential stand-up comic in a late 1950s era, when that was something a woman didn’t necessarily consider. She appears on behalf of the Wilmette (Illinois) Actors Training Center on Friday, October 19th, 2018, at a fundraiser for that organization, for which she is an alumni. The Actors Training Center (ATC) is located in Wilmette (Illinois), and its mission to provide all students with an access to a creative outlet and professional space, and make industry-forward actor training available to those students, from Kindergarten through adulthood. Fostering a healthy communication between instructor and actor, the ATC endeavors to create an instructional journey towards the audition and a professional level of performance.

Rachel Brosnahan was born in Milwaukee, and raised in Highland Park (Illinois). When she was 16 years old, she trained at the ATC under Carole Dibo, and began her professional career shortly thereafter. She made her film debut in “The Unborn” in 2009, and after college in hit her stride in Netflix’s “House of Cards” as Rachel Posner. In 2017, she began her run as “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” on Amazon Prime, which will soon begin Season Two.
