British-born Alex McAleer practices the art of mentalism, which gives the appearance of a highly developed intuitive or connectively mental abilities. He got interested in the craft after his mother passed away when he was a teenager, and his obsession with her afterlife led him to his advocation. His method is not psychic or a door to the deceased, but rather a reading of people and talking to the living, combining contemporary mind interaction with sharp wit and a flair for showmanship. He’s made TV appearances in Britain, Australia, and the U.S. (“Access Hollywood”).
In a Podtalk with Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com, Mentalist Alex McAleer defines his style, reflects on his origins and talks about the human element of his performance craft.
