The Texas-born Jessica Simpson broke out at age 19 with her debut album “Sweet Kisses” (1999). After selling four million copies, she began a streak of gold records with “Irresistible” (2001) and “In This Skin” (2003). At the same time she was on the MTV reality show, “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica,” which chronicled her marriage to Nick Lachey, and the show was a pop culture hit. After divorcing Lachey in 2005, she made her film debut in as Daisy Duke in “The Dukes of Hazzard” and launched a billion-dollar fashion line The Jessica Simpson Collection (one of the most successful celebrity brands in history). In the last ten years she went back to reality TV (“The Price of Beauty,” “Fashion Star”), remarried, and was a controversial spokesperson for Weight Watchers, in association with dieting after her pregnancies. Her full story is available in the new tell-all, “Open Book.”
