Entertainment News: Comcast Announces COVID-19 Response & Free Preview Options

CHICAGO – In keeping with the current status of distancing and remote at-home schooling and work during the COVID-19 pandemic, Comcast has announced a two-tiered plan for both internet access and entertainment options, including opening their nationwide Xfinity WiFI network for free.

With schools closed and more people working from home, Comcast is offering free Xfinity WiFi to everyone, wherever these business or public hotspots exist. A map of those hotspots can be accessed by clicking here. Once at the hotspot, customers can select the “xfinitywifi” network name and begin to use the service. For their internet customers, Comcast is pausing any limiting on data plans, so all users will now have access to unlimited data. Free Previews for Comcast Xfinity X1 and Flex Users

Comcast will also be rolling out free previews, focusing on education, fitness and entertainment, including on-demand catalogs from Showtime and Epix channels. Those users with Xfinity X1 and Flex can simple say “FREE” into their Xfinity voice remotes and explore a range of Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) – including CuriosityStream, Grokker Yoga Fitness & Wellbeing and the History Vault – along with the on-demand options.
