As of July 3rd, 2020, Music Box Theatre became on of the first movie houses in Chicago to re-open in compliance with Illinois State guideline PHASE 4 protocol. The complete rules for coming to the theater can be accessed by clicking here.

The Gene Siskel Film Center announced that the PHASE 4 protocols given by the State of Illinois could not be adapted to their theater capacity, so they will not be opening at this time (July 10th, 2020).
The FILM CENTER FROM YOUR SOFA is a partnership between the Gene Siskel Film Center and their regular distributors to provide screenings of the films that were scheduled before the closings. Prices vary, but “none of the prices are more than what you would pay for a single movie ticket.”
