Rating: 4.0/5.0

“Eurovision” was released on June 26, 2020, on Netflix (after an intended May release was scrapped due to the pandemic). It features Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as a musical duo from Iceland called Fire Saga. They desire to pass the audition and be part of the Eurovision Song Contest, a real annual event (canceled this year) that introduced ABBA and Celine Dion, among others. Fire Saga gets their shot, and the Will Ferrell style hilarity and heart filled songs follow. Also featuring Dan Stevens (“Beauty and the Beast”) as their Russian rival and the invincible Pierce Brosnan as the Ferrell character’s strict Dad.

“Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” is available on the Netflix streaming platform. Featuring Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams, Dan Stevens and Pierce Brosnan. Written by Will Ferrell and Andrew Steele. Directed by David Dobkin. Rated “PG-13”
