CHICAGO – At the red-carpet premiere of “Black as Night” on Sept. 21, 2021 at Chicago’s Music Box Theatre, HollywoodChicago.com interviews director Maritte Lee Go (who admits she’s a Jason Blum fangirl) and writer Sherman Payne (who discusses “cultural specificity,” describes this as a “black vampire movie” that pre-dated Jordan Peele and says vampires are a metaphor for humanity).
We also speak with stars Fabrizio Guido (who reveals his longtime passion for vampires; he used to go to school with vampire teeth while popping his collar), Craig Tate and Mason Beauchamp.
Watch now in our video above! The new vampire horror/comedy will be released on Oct. 1, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video as part of the Welcome to the Blumhouse series from Jason Blum. The 2021 series also features “Bingo Hell,” “Madres” and “The Manor”.
