CHICAGO – South of Chicago, specifically the south suburbs, is Governors State University (University Park, Illinois). Emerging from the pandemic is the Chicago Southland International Film Festival, which takes place October 11th through the 17th, 2021, and is presented by the University. Co-founded and Co-chaired by Joshua Young and Suzanne Patterson, the festival is in its fourth edition, with a hybrid mix of online and in-person short and feature films. The Chicago Southland International Film Festival (CSIFF) is a film festival with core values of inclusiveness, diversity and promoting quality of life, valuing an atmosphere that fosters a capacity to enjoy life through the fine arts and humanities. CSIFF offers Chicagoland residents an opportunity to see a collection of diverse films – professional to amateur, even at the high school level – from around the world, and see the art abundant campus of Governor’s State University in person.
