Football Hero! On-Air TV Review of 'Colin in Black & White’
CHICAGO – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com appears on “The Morning Mess” with Dan Baker on WBGR-FM (Monroe, Wisconsin) on November 4th, 2021, reviewing the new miniseries “Colin in Black & White” – regarding the early years of ex-NFL QB Colin Kaepernick – currently streaming on Netflix.!—break—>
Television Rating: 5.0/5.0 |
The series is the story of Kaepernick, the mercurial ex-quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, who famously kneeled during the National Anthem before the games to protest law enforcement killings and violence against black Americans. The six episode arc – created by Kaepernick and Ava DuVernay of “Selma” – chronicles his high school years, where he was a three sport man … football, basketball and baseball … and excelled in each, while carrying a 4.0 GPA. His dream is to be a quarterback, even though he’s considered a better baseball pitcher. But he is determined, and his story is told through that dream.
